The germ of the idea to establish Medic One was born in 2001. When drg D.G. Savitri Wirahadikusumah (Vivi) was mourning the death of her father, Lt.Gen. Agus Wirahadikusumah, the commander of the Army Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad).
In the early morning of August 30, 2001, her Father, who had no record of heart illnes, suddenly collapsed around 5.45 am. People in house panicked and phoned one big hospital, the closest to their house. The ambulance came late and no one in the house knew how to give first Aid. Her father died on the way to the hospital.
That bitter experience gave her the inspiration to set up a company to provide a health emergency service. After completing her study in hospital management and international health at the George Washington University, she began to develop the idea, using the USA’s 911 service as a benchmark.
She finally founded and established Medic One in April 2008 with passion to create professional Emergency Medical Service (EMS) to better serve community.
The EMS has operated 24/7, and it has grown since then with different services including training education, carepoint clinic, and corporate health.
